With over two decades of experience, she has led the firm through strategic growth, expansion, and diversification of its practice areas. Her clientele spans individuals, corporations, financial institutions, and non-governmental organisations.<\/p>\n<p>Sazira is an experienced Syar\u2019ie Lawyer. Her journey in the Shariah field began upon obtaining her licence to practise Shariah law in 2002. She also holds a Diploma in Shariah Law and Legal Practice (DSLP) from IIUM. She is particularly recognised for her depth in Islamic family law and faraid matters, and has conducted numerous hearings before the Shariah Courts throughout Malaysia. Beyond her legal practice, Sazira previously practised as a registered patent agent, reflecting her early involvement in intellectual property matters.<\/p>\n<p>Across more than two decades of practice, Sazira has remained actively engaged in professional associations, business networks, various NGOs, and community platforms. She has served as an advisor and panel member to women- and family-focused organisations, and has contributed to public discourse on family and legal matters through education initiatives and media platforms. Prior to that, for almost a decade he was partner and head of practice group for Islamic Financial Services at one of Malaysia\u2019s largest law firms, Zaid Ibrahim &amp; Co, with network presence across the ASEAN region.<\/p>\n<p>Madzlan had the experience of serving the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) as a senior project manager; where he was responsible in developing several prudential standards on governance of institutions offering Islamic financial services. Madzlan was, among others, the lead consultant for Halal Industry Park in Kyrgyzstan and Islam Finance Master Plan in Kazakhstan. Involvements in these projects in Central Asia led to CSQlaw opening its international branch in Astana, Kazakhstan since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his career spanning over 25 years, Madzlan has been recognised as a leading Islamic finance lawyer by various international publications, including Legal 500, IFLR1000, Chambers &amp; Partners, Lexology Index (formerly Who\u2019s Who Legal), Islamic Finance News Legal Supplements, and Euromoney\u2019s Expert Guides.<br \/>He has acted as an accredited consultant on legal and regulatory frameworks for Islamic banking in Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan under technical assistance grant programmes by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). He also served as Lead Consultant for a feasibility study on the Halal Industry Park in Kyrgyzstan under an IsDB grant. His transactional experience includes advising on the divestment of a Malaysian company\u2019s 60% shareholding in a 14,000-hectare plantation in Indonesia valued at approximately USD83 million (RM340 million).<\/p>\n<p>He has served as a member of Board of Trustees for a foundation; and chaired the board at one of its subsidiaries doing franchisor business. He has also served the Board of Directors of a takaful operator as an independent director. She brings with her over 25 years of experience in corporate law and private wealth planning advisory, combined. She advises clients in complex corporate legal matters involving mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, securities laws, regulatory compliance and various commercial contracts. She also advises high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth structuring, succession planning and estate administration.<br \/>Earlier in her professional career, whereupon completion of her formal training as an Advocate &amp; Solicitor, Azlina was recruited by Kenanga Deutsche Futures Sdn Bhd, then one of the largest derivatives broking firms in Malaysia, as its Compliance Officer. Kenanga Deutsche Futures was a joint venture between K&amp;N Kenanga Holdings Berhad and Bain &amp; Company Ltd of Australia (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Deutsche Bank Group). In this role, she was responsible for regulatory compliance and governance matters within a highly regulated financial services environment.<br \/>Following her further admission to the Rolls of Solicitors of England and Wales in 2002, she continued her career as an Advocate &amp; Solicitor at Zaid Ibrahim &amp; Co., then the largest law firm in Malaysia. During her tenure, she advised a broad spectrum of public listed companies and multinational corporations on complex corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, corporate restructurings, take-overs and mergers. Her practice also covered securities regulation, foreign direct investment and regulatory compliance. She further contributed to legislative drafting initiatives undertaken for the Malaysian Government, in particular work relating to the anti-competition laws. <br \/>In 2017, Azlina transitioned into the private wealth sector and was appointed as the Director of CIMB Private Trust Company, a bank-backed trust company servicing high-net-worth individuals and families. Her role, which included as the Head of Business Development, involved advising on succession and estate planning, trust structures and wealth preservation strategies. During her tenure, as the Head of Business Development, she contributed to the development and expansion of CIMB\u2019s private trust offerings, particularly within the private banking client segment. <br \/>Azlina returned to legal practice in 2025 and assumed the position of Senior Partner at Messrs Anas Sazira &amp; Partners, which was subsequently rebranded as Messrs Azlina Madzlan Sazira Shahirah (AMASS). Having read law at the Northern University of Malaysia, she also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Shariah Law and Administration from the MARA University of Technology, and a Professional Practice Certificate in Islamic Capital Market from INCEIF University, Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining AMASS as the youngest partner, within her young career Shahirah has served as an associate at three law firms, namely Messrs Azman Tahir Tan &amp; Co; Messrs Albar &amp; Partners; and Messrs The Chambers of Shamsul Qamar.
